WEATHER VANE
I'm planning on making a weather vane for the garage and I'm really just playing around at the moment.
I then pushed a stainless bar through the bearing, and here I have the beginnings' of the weather vane spindle.
I thought I'd make some brackets first out of some scrap aluminum angle, and then pressed a bearing in using the vice.
Here I cut out a drawing for the wind catching side of the Vane.
Using a coping saw I started to cut this out of the plywood. I need to get a mechanical fret saw!!!!!
Just a bit of sanding and shaping required.
A rather childish attempt with the colours I had available.
Primer and painted the main body colour and drawn in some detail for when I paint the scoot.
Here we go with a bit of detail.
Ensure it is level so it does not have a bias towards leaning one way and we have a lovely weather vane that is the envy of the neighbour hood? Or not! Now I will know which way the wind is blowing when I go to fly my RC glider.
